Grand Rounds Cases

Purpose

The purpose of the Grand Rounds module is for LEND fellows to learn about children with hearing loss through case examination.

Learning objectives

LEND fellows will use case studies to learn about:

  • Diagnostic challenges:
    • Challenging diagnosis
    • delayed diagnosis
    • Unique diagnosis and/or etiology
    • Misdiagnosis
  • Management
    • Family/cultural perspective
    • Benefit/use of hearing technology
    • medical/surgical treatment
    • Unique issues of communication
  • Review the following cases for discussion during this week’s seminar:

 

Student Grand Rounds

Learning Objectives:

LEND trainees will learn to develop clear and concise grand rounds case slides and presentations. Each student will  present both a diagnostic case and a management case using:
